This weekend Dave is taking Eleanor and me to the Trapp Family Lodge to celebrate my birthday. . . as in VonTrapp. . . as in The Sound of Music! This is the 'camp' or lodge that the Trapp Family Singers started when they moved to the United States. The 'real' Maria is buried here as well as several other members of the family.
I've been singing all the songs from the movie to Eleanor all week in preparation, and she's been practicing her yodel since birth! These lovely Vermont Hills will be alive with the sound of Eleanor.
Wish us luck traveling. Our poor little car is going to be packed to the roof with all her accessaries and whirligigs. This little baby goes through more laundry, diapers and memory space on the camera in a day than you'd believe.
Happy Birthday, Emily, and have a fantastic weekend away with your family! How fun to visit that lodge-I've always wanted to go there! The Trapp Family Lodge, Prince Edward Island for Anne of Green Gables, and hanging out with the Amish...it really doesn't get any better than that! :-)
