Love from Minnesota

Eleanor met her Great Aunt Marilynn, Quentin, and her Great Aunt Chris for the first time at a restaurant on Saturday in White Bear Lake. We'd had a rough ride from NE, but once Eleanor was taken out of her car seat and was bounced vigorously a few times (a popular Eleanor 'reset' technique), she was good as gold. She took to both aunts really well and enjoyed a morning of adoration and new sites and smells.

On Sunday my mom and I brought Eleanor to the shoppiest place on earth. . . THE MALL OF AMERICA! I was very happy to let grandma stroll Eleanor around while I shopped in all of my favorite stores. I was full of guilt for having neglected them for so long (:

Eleanor has yet again proved she inherited my shopping gene. She was good as gold and hardly uttered a protest the entire time. Grandma picked up some pink chocolates for Eleanor's shower and mom found some fabulous tops. Eleanor didn't leave empty handed; we found an adorable white sunhat to crown her little fuzzy head.

By far Eleanor's favorite part of the mall was the proliferation of mirrors. We've found she calms down whenever she sees her own relfection. Our vain little baby especially liked the baby changing room in Nordstrom's Ladies Lounge. It had walls of mirrors that reflected back hundreds of Eleanors. She appeared pleased as punch in her many reflections.

Finally, I wanted to include a few 'fist' pictures. It's official, Eleanor has rejected the pacifier in favor of her fist.
