Food! Games! Art!

Wow! Eleanor laughs hard with Daddy

This weekend, Dave was able to finish some of his work for his art show early. Because of this, he was actually able to spend some time with Eleanor and I on Saturday, and he plans to be home most of today. Eleanor and I are ecstatic to have so much time with Daddy.

Outside Canton's historic Universalist Church

On Saturday we went to the Remington Arts Fair in Canton, and enjoyed seeing The Northern Lights Orchestra, and the Silas Wright Museum. Eleanor sat in her first restaurant highchair at the Blackbird cafe and ate her foods like a champion. No matter how much baby food we offered, she still reached with enthusiasm for my sandwich.

'Why doesn't MY food contain pesto and sundried tomatoes?'

On Friday, Eleanor's highchair was delivered by our friendly UPS man. He actually walked into our garage when we were away and put the package by our inside door- so very Potsdam! So far, Eleanor loves to eat at our height, though she doesn't understand why her food looks so different from ours, and why we just won't let her handle her food all by herself.

'Feed me I'm yours'

This morning Dave bought Eleanor her first video game. It's an iPhone application called Peek-a-boo Barn. Eleanor touches the screen and an animal appears out of a barn, and the name of the animal is shouted with enthusiasm. She loves it!

'Will you also teach me to design this video game?'

On Thursday, our wonderful friend Louise brought over some baby snacks called 'Mum-Mums' for Eleanor. Mum-Mums are crispy rice cakes that dissolve easily after being gummed for a few seconds and are excellent for teething babies. Eleanor loves her new 'cookies.'
