'Tugging at the heart-strings is a round-the-clock job.'
We made it through our first crying night without pulling out (all) our hair, eating the entire contents of the freezer, making an emergency batch of cookies or giving in and rocking Eleanor back to sleep! She woke three times in the night and cried for an average of 50 minutes each time, and woke at 5:50 and continued to cry until 7 a.m. when I fed her. We've been going into her room and briefly picking her up every 10 minutes.
Currently she's sobbing away in her crib for what is supposed to be her morning nap. I really hope this only lasts the 3-4 days that people promise... so far she's been quite tenacious!
Empty!
On a happier note, Eleanor finished her little pot of cereal mix for the first time last night. Daddy has perfected a recipe of the Eleanor-approved proportions of milk, rice cereal and pear and raspberry puree. Eleanor loves to eat now, and even smiles and opens her mouth in anticipation of each bite.
Here is a video of Eleanor playing on her blanket
