I've been slow to blog these past weeks because we've been in the middle of a move! Last Wednesday Dave, Eleanor and I moved into a rental house in the village of Potsdam. It's a fantastic little ranch with a real yard, a big huge kitchen, 3 bedrooms, a patio, AND A POOL! Our fantastic landlords live behind us and maintain the pool, which means we can use it, but don't have to care for it. The house is light and airy with good carpet (for Eleanor's delicate knees), and a big kitchen (hooray!). After being cramped in a dark townhouse for 2 years, we feel like we've died and gone to heaven.
Eleanor has handled the move well, but has decided it's much more interesting to explore her new home than sleep. Last night she didn't go down until after 10, and then only slept off and on until 6. Today she only napped sporadically in her Bjorn carrier, despite several intensive pool workouts. Thankfully she crashed tonight at 6! I'll post some pictures of the new house once (if) I get everything in order.
'How lucky are we?!'
Eleanor has also begun to try a few foods. She's not convinced yet that pureed foods are any better than milk, but she's at least been introduced to a few new flavors. She's now tried rice cereal (yuck), mango (yuck), blueberries (yuck), pear (yuck), sweet potato (yuck), and pineapple (she loves it!).
When I was pregnant with Eleanor, pineapple was the number one thing I craved. I had pineapple for breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner. I probably consumed more pineapples than a summer's worth of luaus. They say that babies can taste what a mother eats while they're in the womb. It makes sense that Eleanor loves pineapple!
P.S. This footage is from last week in our old apartment (please excuse the mess).
P.P.S. The third video is the funniest (blueberries. . .)
First bite (mom is a little too excited)
Second bite. . .
Yetch!
